R.I.P. Mogwai

Do you remember my post about The Cats in My Life?
Do you remember Mogwai? My mom's cat? The Queen of the the house?

She passed away on Monday 31 August 2009.

It's amazing how painful the death of a pet could be. My mom isn't taking it very well. We've had Mogwai for about 10 years now. Quite a long time. The vet said something about kidney failure. She died on the table. In front of my mother. They tried to keep her alive but they couldn't. This has been going for a while now. She's been looking worse and worse for about 2 months now. I think my mother was in denial or something. She kept saying she'll take her to the vet but 'more important' things happen. It's breaking her heart. That she didn't take her earlier.

I don't think it could have been stopped. These things happen. We miss her already. And so does Mega, my cat. He's all alone now and when we get home at night he doesn't leave our sides. He sticks to us like glue. He really takes good care of my mother. I know he knows her heart aches the most. My cat is very intuitive by the way.

So there... My little heartache for the week. On top of it all.
Rest in Peace My Dear Mogwai. You will be dearly missed.

We'll always have the memories...

No unfortunately. Ive always grown up with dobermans though, but I'll wait to get another one until I can relax my work schedule instead of leaving him/her at home alone all the time.

So sorry to hear about your sweet and precious Mogwai.

Thanx Jenn - It's amazing how lonely my cat is suddenly without her. He hates it and he shows it. We're looking at getting a baby Maine Coon though. Can't wait

Very sorry about that. One of the reasons why I never wanted a pet: this kind of thing is inevitable. Possibly worse, at least in the case of dogs, is where people get to the age where they realise their pet may outlive them.

@Simon - You must have had a pet sometime in your life? It's unmissable. It's a whole different love. Without boundaries and shit...
